In this webcast, I will demonstrate how one can modify the standard payment advice document and include company specific logos and modifications. In addition, the creation and Email transmission of payment advices as PDF documents will be illustrated.

Great video Ludwig. Is it possible to share the Extract vendor account number expression as it is blurred in the video?

Hi, Have you tried playing the video in HD? You should see a small button at the bottom of the video screen that allows you seeing details. Please let me know if this fixes your issue. Thanks, Ludwig

Hello Ludwing,
While trying to send AP remittance to Vendors via email, emails tend to fail for a few Vendors configured.
We are not getting an error message on via the interface. When we are processing AP payments for approval the process sends the remittance statements to a vendors primary e-mail. The process is sending this without issue to some vendors. However, other vendors that are configured do not receive the remittance.
Any idea?

Hello Juan, Do you mean that the email transmission works for some vendors but not for all? Best regards, Ludwig

Hi Ludwig,
That is correct. The function is not working as designed consistently.
Repro steps:
– AP remittance generated
– Emails to Vendors fail
what could be causing this?

Hello Juan, This is in general difficult to say. If you can replicate it in a different demo/test environment then it might be a good idea to get the MS support involved if you cannot find out yourself. They should be able to provide you some quick help and fix. Best regards, Ludwig

How to print the payment advice automatically?

Hi, Why do you want to print it? Do you plan to send it by traditional mail? Best regards, Ludwig

Hi Ludwig. Do I understand this correctly: If I already use the method of payment for sending payments to electronic bank, then at the same time I cannot use also your proposal for sending e-mails to vendors. Thank you!

Hi Barbara, at the time the electronic payment file is created the payment advice is also created. You can thus both. Best regards, Ludwig

Thank you so much for this! It is an incredible eye-opener to what you can do with these products.
I have a question about “Get a Record” please. What does it mean/what should I do when the entities I need don’t show up? VendorsV2 and CustomersV3 are not in the dropdown list, and if I input a custom value then I cannot make use of the output of the Get a Record action, so I can’t proceed with the email action.

Hello Lexi, The VendorsV2 and CustomersV3 entities should be available if you operate the latest version. Can you talk to one of your system admins and ask what the issue might be? They possibly restricted the access? Best regards, Ludwig

Hi Ludwig,
Thank you for responding 🙂 It was my oversight, I tried the wrong connector! There is a Dynamics 365 and also a Dynamics 365 for Fin & Ops. The latter connector has the entity I need.
However, I now have a further issue. The Get a record action requires the object ID in the form of dataAreaId,VendorAccount, as you have shown in your video. However, my data entity VendorsV2 does not have a dataAreaId field.
Is there backend development work needed to create a custom field in Vendors mapped to the legal entity, and then to expose that field in the VendorsV2 data entity, so that the Flow connector can do a lookup?
Please and thank you.

Hi, I did not make any modification to the entities. Please double check with your system admins that they have not made a change and that you are on the very latest version of D365FO. Best regards, Ludwig

Hi Ludwing, nice video, you are a PRO!!!
One question…
When we send the email, vía the “From” email address is taken from the Email parameters on D365F&O?
If i want to use a differente address, can this be configure, just for this process?
Regards

Hi, You can define from where the email is taken from through the configuration/binding. In case the model does not include it e.g. because it is held in a customized field, you can always modify the model to send it to the destination needed. Best regards, Ludwig

I am looking for a similar solution where i’ve been asked to automate the sending of payment advice and I checked under electronic payment the excel format would work with a little modifications to brand it. My issue starts when i see the payment method ACH which is setup with file format NACHA(US). Can you think of a solution how I can use ER to generate or nacha file and also automate payment advice? Let me know please. Thanks

Good Morning Raheel Roa, I am not an expert in ACH and NACHA payment file formats because they are not used in Europe where I live. Yet, if they use the ER framework then I think it should be possible to send payment advices and other things the same way as we use it here. If you still have problems then please do me a favor and post some screenshots together with a brief problem description on the dynamics community forum and I will have a look. Many thanks and best regards, Ludwig

Hi Ludwig,
Can we use ER configuration to produce a UK BACS file and SSRS to generate payment advice? IF we use standard SSRS payment advice feature then we can use Print management and can save/send it as a PDS but my problem is that we use UK BACS which needs to be downloaded from ER forcing us to use excel payment advice.

Hello Jahan, You can convert the Excel payment advice in a PDF. Would that fix your issue? Ludwig

hey Ludwig, can you tell me how to get the company logo per system? I dont wanna have an static object in the excel file.

Good morning Willi, I am not quite sure what you mean by static object in the excel file. I would imagine that you use a company specific logo for each company that you operate. To realize this, I created a related post that can be accessed here: https://dynamicsax-fico.com/2020/06/01/do-you-know-how-to-update-your-business-documents/ Hope this helps and answers your question. Good morning Ludwig, thank you for your reply.
But the problem is still, that i can’t bind the company logo from my current model on vendor payment advice. In your post, you’ve handled it by getting the information from company info that is already in the model. On my side, there’s is no lookup available so that i can just bind the container (bitmap).
