This posts focuses on how to track containers, pallets, boxes and alike that are used for shipping goods to customers in D365FO. Advanced warehouse expert Juergen Weber guides us through the necessary setups and configurations in the warehouse management module. He illustrates how one can make use of Electronic Reporting and MS Flow for the implementation of a process that allows tracking packing means in standard D365FO.
Hi Ludwig,

Hello Ludwig,
Video was excellent with no code and complete automation; I have a query on attributes how it is linked to released items and there after a movement journal is created with those items (Containers attribute linked items). Could you explain on the relation of container attributes values which are linked to the items?

Hello Santo,
The mapping is really simple. The released item is entered/assigned as a text (string value) in the container attribute of the individual container! That´s it!
User have of course to assure with their setup process that e.g. a released item is not used as attribute for multiple containers. Otherwise you might get incorrect results with the electronic report etc.
Best Regards
Juergen
