Hello Ludwig,
If I sign in as Sam (e.g. Accountant role) I do not see the “Clock in clock out punch” menu item in the Common module. I see it only as a system admin or a shopfloor supervisor for example. Why do you think that is the case? I would think that any regular user should be allowed to enter their clock in /out times. I would expect that to be included in roles then. Or am I missing the point of the menu item?
Hi Ludwig, I investigated and I can see the form Clock in/out is controled by privilage Maintain job registration (job list), specificaly Display menu item JmgRegistrationJobQueueDialog+ which needs to be included in the role which needs to use it. Shopflor supervisor has it, but e.g. sales clerk does not. Thank you

Yes, in Contoso I assigned myself an Accountant role. I could not see the menu item. Then I added 2 privileges “Maintain job registration (job list) ” and “Maintain registration forms”. Now I can see it and use it. The clock in/out menu item just makes more sense to me, because when I click on “Electronic time card” the user is able to select ANY worker which is set up for this time card (unless there is a way to limit this). That could lead to an error. (unless you want to use passwords) The Clock in/out menu item just goes straight to the one user. My requirement is just to enter clock in / out times without any functionality behind it. I am not sure why MS did not intend to give this menu item to everybody. Hard to say…What do you think?
Hi Ludwig,
Thanks for the Part 2. I liked it. What a coincidence? In fact, I was working on this topic exactly when I read your post.
Thanks once again. Eagerly waiting for your next part.
Cheers,

Hi, Are you in a test / demo environment and can you change / adjust the role setup to see if this is the underlying reason?

Not sure about the reasoning behind. Guess that only the MS product team can definitely answer that question.
