Hi, I need to import rates from Bloomberg with over 14 cross currencies. We currently export data on excel, then type in one by one. Is there any possible solution to import rates via the flow or import file?
Hi Randhir Taucoor, If you have the Bloomberg data in an Excel sheet that can be accessed via a cloud drive (one-drive, sharepoint, etc.) then you can use flow. Yet, rather than downloading it, can’t you access the data via an API and thereby ‘save’ the download step? Should be possible especially for a large provider such as Bloomberg. Best regards, Ludwig
Hi Ludwig,
Thank you for explaining in such detail how the Flow works and how to configure it. After talking with a developer though, he thinks that the modification that has to be done in the system in order to create a new exchange rate provider is much easier than the configuration needed to make Flows work. Would you still recommend to use Flows instead of coding a change? Thank you!
Hi Patricia, I certainly prefer the out of the box Flow/PowerAutomate solution over a system adjustment by code. Yet, if I would be a developer I would certainly argue differently 😉 Best regards, Ludwig
Hi Ludwig, I have applied your power automate flow, but I met a blocking point on the action : Compose (Split) : the error is : Unable to process template language expressions in action ‘Compose_(Split)’ inputs at line ‘1’ and column ‘12746’: ‘The template language function ‘split’ expects its first parameter to be of type string. The provided value is of type ‘Object’. Please see https://aka.ms/logicexpressions#split for usage details.’.I have checked the code, and for me it’s ok. do you have an idea about these error ? thank you
Hi, MS made some changes to the ‘flow’ (PowerAutomate) language since this post was published. You might thus not be able to use this ‘old’ examples but might have to modify things a bit. Please check this and related sites: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/power-fx/overview. Best regards, Ludwig
