Wow, would be good to see how you created the button to integrate the power app button on the financial period close tasks inside D365. Your blog is amazing

Hi, The button has a simple on select command that starts running the flow.
OnSelect ‘Automaticallyputperiodsonhold-Option2’.Run()
Where ‘Automaticallyputperiodsonhold-Option2’ is the name of my MS Flow that is triggered through the PowerApp.
Best regards,
Ludwig

Hi Ludwig, I have created the powerapp application which is triggering the flow but how can you put the powerapp icon (and trigger the app by clicking on it) on the action pane (next to office icon) in D365? I have tried to put this icon by the “personalize this form/insert” function but I can add only fields not powerapp application. How can you enable powerapp insertion in D365?
Thanks in advance

Hi, The PowerApp icon will be available in D365 systems starting from PU15. If you operate an older version ensure that you upgrade to PU15. Best regards, Ludwig

Hi Ludwig, Another problem that my flow gets a “Fail” status after got it ran, but the desired action is performed well. My excel consists 13 row (form Period 12_2017 to Period12_2018) so when I run the flow it should put on hold Period 03_2018 only. It is happening well, all other 12 period remain Open. I am curious why does the flow get “Failed” status?

Hi, It is difficult to say why it failed without having additional information. What you can try doing is opening the failed flow process and then investigate the error message(s) that should open up on the right-hand side. Once you have this information and still can’t figure out the underlying reason for this failure, take a look at the Flow community site that might have a similar issue and possibly the solution listed. https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Flow-Community/ct-p/FlowCommunity Best regards, Ludwig

Hi Ludwig,
I have a question on how did you got to chose the Start and End column in the condition from the dynamic content? I only see in the section ‘get rows’ -values and list of items.

Does it have to do anything with the last column of your Excel spread sheet ‘PowerApp’ ? You haven’t mentionned anything about that column and the links that are in there.. what do they do?
Thanks

Hi Ludwig, I have just tried creating this Flow but I keep getting the Flow run failed at the Apply to Each step. The error I get is “message”: “An error has occurred. No resources were found when selecting for update.\r\nclientRequestId: b18bf293-0934-4857-a3fd-abc6d2b61858, wondering if you are able to guide me in what could be the cause of this. Thanks Claire
